[The cobalt-tinted mutant peers over his shoulder at the door, shifting so his feet are resting on the chair and he's in a crouched position.] Here's hoping I don't get us into trouble.

No but I know someone with a lot of money who might know where to get one.

[Peter just shakes his head.] We just have to be stealthy when we sneak out.

Ah, I see. That must be rather convenient.

[Kurt returns his attention to Peter, blinking again and tilting his head to the side.] Are we going to climb out of a window or something?

Only sometimes.

[Peter shakes his head again and points up with his spoon.] Nope. Just use the ceiling.

[He wrinkles his nose then leans his head all the way back, citrine eyes staring long and hard at the ceiling.

Eventually, Kurt drops his gaze once more, left hand curling around his knee, the other raising to his chin.] We are ... going to crawl across the ceiling and out of the building?

Only part of the way. Past where people would be watching.

And once we are past them, we'll be home free, ja? Sounds simple enough.

Exactly. What could possibly go wrong?

[He slides his hand up from his chin, the points of his claws gently tugging his lower lip down.] ... one of us falls off the ceiling?

Have you ever fallen off something you've been climbing before?

Not yet, but there's always a first for everything, Peter!

Don't jinx it! We'll do fine.

Okay, okay! I'll take your word for it.

[Peter smiled and nodded, taking a few more bites of his ice cream.] Great. We'll escape with no worries of falling.

[Kurt lowers the hand from his lips back to his knee, balancing on the balls of his feet and leaning forward, tail motioning toward the carton of ice cream before curling around the front of his legs.] May I have some?

[Peter blinks a few times then nods. Scooping some out of the carton, he holds the spoon out to Kurt.] Sure.

[He perks once again, letting out an excited sounding yip and reaching to take the spoon that he's being offered.] I was hesitant about asking because I wasn't sure if you would actually want to share ...

Really, I'm glad you did ask. I don't think I would have been able to finish it all on my own.

[shadowblends]

[There's a chuckle in response as he puts the spoon in his mouth, scraping the ice cream off then offering the utensil back to Peter.] Imagine the sugar coma if you did eat all of it.

[Peter laughs around another spoonful of ice cream. He coughs a few times but shakes it off.] I don't think it'd be quite that bad. I was thinking more along the line of brain freeze and stomach ache combo.

Ach! [Kurt swiftly raises both hands to his head, fingers twisting around the dual-colored strands at the thought of having another brain freeze.] Neither of those sound pleasant, so let's do our best to avoid them, shall we?

They're both unpleasant and worse when teamed up so I am all for avoiding them. [He takes another bite of ice cream before offering the spoon to Kurt again.]

[He reaches to take the spoon once more, brow furrowing and his nose wrinkling in thought. A shrug of the shoulders and he brushes aside the fleeting memory, body shivering at the coolness of the frozen treat as he returns the spoon.] Are you actually feeling better though, Peter?

[Peter thinks a moment.] Really I just feel sore and restless. I'll be fine after I get some rest. In a non-hospital bed.

[shadowblends]

Then ... [Glancing over his shoulder once again, Kurt eyes the door for a moment then turns back to Peter, a mischievous grin tugging his lips up.] Why don't we put our plan into action? If you are ready to go, that is.
